Celebration on the Hill 2006 Forums: Mike Conaway

   I live in the 11th District of Texas and on Wednesday May 31st, 6 of our 8 ambassadors met in San Angelo with Mike Conaway.  The meeting was awesome and Mike is such an unpretentious man.  His field representative is a young man by the name of Jesse Lashbrook from San Angelo and he also sat in on the meeting.  After each of us shared our stories (hook & line) Mike then shared his cancer story about losing his first wife to leukemia.  It was an emotional time for us all.  Then our team spokesperson gave our sinker.  It was a great visit.  Mike allowed us about 45 minutes....we feel very fortunate.  As we were wrapping up, we asked Jesse if he had a cancer story.  It turns out that he is a one year survivor of testicular cancer.  What an amazing young man with an amazing story.

	That's Great Stuff Dolaween. Building those relationships with staff at the district office is what it's all about. Kudos to your district ambassadors. We'll see you in September!

	Hey Dolaween~ I'm an ambassador from the 26th District (North Texas) but I grew up and lived in San Angelo until two years ago when I started graduate school. I'm so glad to hear everything is going well with your team and that Mike Conaway is on board with us. I knew there was a good reason I voted for him!
