ACS CAN Receptions
Celebration on the Hill 2006 will be packed full of inspirational activities that will capture the attention of our representatives in Congress. The very first will be a fund-raising event benefiting the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network. "Community Voices CAN" is your opportunity to connect with thousands of your fellow Celebration Ambassadors—along with a few very special guests—who want their voices heard in the fight against cancer. Look for more information soon about "Community Voices CAN." In the meantime, be sure to save Tuesday evening, September 19, on your calendar. It will be the place to be in D.C.!
Wall of Hope
Washington D.C. is a city of monuments. Celebration Ambassadors will send from their communities the building blocks of our capital's newest monument: The Wall of Hope. Imagine . . . a larger-than-life luminaria illuminating the night sky over the National Mall . . . a serene place amid the bustle of the day to reflect and remember loved ones touched by cancer . . . a message to Capitol Hill that we care about cancer and we WILL be heard.

On the Track
Experience the mission of the American Cancer Society and Relay For Life at their biggest and best. Teams will circle a giant track together. Survivors and caregivers will be honored in a moving and inspiring fashion. Engaging entertainment will captivate the crowd throughout the day. And a luminaria ceremony like no other—with thousands of candles, each representing a life touched by cancer and lining the Capitol Reflecting Pool—will remind all of why we continue to fight.
On the Hill
The centerpiece of Celebration on the Hill 2006 is the legislative visit many Celebration Ambassadors will make to Members of Congress. The National Government Relations Department is hard at work to set up these meetings and will work with your Division to be sure you have all the information you need.
